There are thirty Airlines using Cyprus’ two airports. It’s sometimes true that a package deal may be the most effective way of travelling, especially off-season, and checking for the latest Ceefax or Internet bargains can get you the best price. The Sunday papers (especially The Times) can have some very attractive deals available, so it’s worth shopping around – but don’t forget to let us have the details so that we can make sure you get the most from the trip (click on “Contact Us” to send us the information we need to plan a visit for you)

Our local representative knows the island intimately, so we do know what is good and what is less good – not just in terms of hotels but also in locations. In the season, some places are quiet and others lively – if you let us know what you prefer we can try to get just the right spot to stay, in an area close to where you are looking to live.

Accommodation in Cyprus

It can be a good idea to arrange the trip on a self catering basis - to get the feel of living there rather than staying in a hotel. this helps you learn about the facilities, the community, and to make some friends in the way you will when you take over your new house in the sun.

We have some clients who let properties when they visit the UK - these tend to be Cyprus apartments in the main - but do let us know if that's what you would like, and we can check what is available. We also have some holiday rentals available for short stay visits, so do let us know if we can help with accommodation.

We have a link with a hotel owner, which could save a little - these are small, local hotels which would suit a budget approach to your visit. Again, let us know if you'd like us to explore that option.

Car Hire in Cyprus

This is also on the useful links page – there are three choices there. Do test ANY car before you accept it – and make sure you are happy with it. The local approach can be a little radical when considering when some attention to a vehicle is due!

4 wheel drive is essential if going off-road in the mountains. Motorbikes don't get too much respect from drivers on narrow roads, so a car is the best bet.

The best map is the Marco Polo Shell 1:200,000 available from the National Map Centre, 22-24 Caxton St, London – 0171 222 2466. Village signposting can be non-existent, and you’ll find yourself in the café asking directions – pot luck can end up with a long trip back to the main road in reverse ! Distances are in Kilometres.

Itinerary

The trip needs to be viewed as a business trip, and you need some careful planning up front to make sure you get the best out of your time there. Not that there isn’t time to enjoy the sunny days and warm nights – just that a good itinerary will:-

               Make sure you see only what is of interest

               Be planned to avoid unnecessary journeys, and covering ground twice

               Be set to the pace you dictate

               Be helpful and not aggressively sales based.

We do all these things, and as an independent not linked to any one Cyprus developer we don’t have to push you towards one particular place. It’s about us doing exactly what you want us to do, all part of the help we provide every step of the way.

Our standard package includes our local, independent associate, who is not tied to anyone, and who can therefore access all of the developers and agents in Cyprus. We also have looked at the developers ourselves, and can discuss with you those that would be particularly worth seeing based on the location anmd type of property you are looking for.  We can also set up a meeting with any particular developer you wish to see if you have someone specific in mind.

Rather than make all the calls yourself, you can choose from the suggested package above, adding or deleting as you please, and we will then set up the appointments you want on the days you specify. Working with our local agent does mean that he can control the pace of the days for you, and avoid “overkill”. On my last visit one agent kept me with him for 5 hours without a break – no lunch – so it can be helpful to have the arrangements planned to make sure your day is not over-committed!
