There are many flights to Greece and Crete all year round. It’s sometimes true that a package deal may be the most effective way of traveling, especially in the season, and checking for the latest Ceefax or Internet bargains can get you the best price. The Sunday papers (especially The Times) can have some very attractive deals available, so it’s worth shopping around – but don’t forget to let us have the details so that we can make sure you get the most from the trip. 

Our local representative know their areas of Crete intimately, so we do know what is good and what is less good – not just in terms of hotels but also in locations and Crete property. Let us know if you require a car, we have negotiated attractive rates with several car hire companies in Crete. Do test ANY car before you accept it – and make sure you are happy with it. The local approach can be a little radical when considering when some attention to a vehicle is due!

Most car hire firms provide a free map in English with the car. 

The trip needs to be viewed as a business trip, and you need some careful planning up front to make sure you get the best out of your time there. Not that there isn’t time to enjoy the sunny days and warm nights – just that a good itinerary will: 

               Make sure you see only Crete property that is of interest

               Be planned to avoid unnecessary journeys, and covering ground twice

               Be set to the pace you dictate

               Be helpful and not aggressively sales based. 

We do all these things, and as an independent we don’t have to push you towards one particular place or property. It’s about us doing exactly what you want us to do, all part of the help we provide every step of the way. 

Our standard package includes our local, independent associates, who are not tied to anyone, and who can therefore access many of the developers and agents in there area. We also have looked at other developers ourselves, and can suggest three that would be particularly worth seeing.

Working with our local associates does mean that they can control the pace of the days for you, and avoid “overkill”.  On my last visit one agent/developer I was checking out, kept me with him all day without a break – so it can be helpful to have the arrangements planned to make sure your day is not over-committed. 

A Word Of Warning

Over the last few years several new companies have set up building houses for foreigners (especially the British) with no real experience in the business. They have tried to become very price competitive by taking short cuts, using inferior quality materials and building very small properties. Most of them are also going through a huge learning curve that we went through 14 years ago.
